Sligo, 2nd February 2011 : The Temple House Music & Arts Festival, which was recently voted “Best New European” Festival at the European Festival Awards has added Heathers, Miracle Bell, Kerbdog, Stand, The Raglans and The Danger Is to the line-up for this year’s three day music and arts extravaganza which will take place in the stunning grounds of Temple House, near Ballymote in Sligo from 10^th-12^th June. These acts join Something Happens, The Saw Doctors, Andrew Strong, The Walls, Interference, DJ Wool aka Glen Brady, Marty Mulligan & Ross O’Snodaigh who were announced earlier this week. Early bird tickets priced €99 will go on sale this Friday, 4^th February from www.ticketmaster.ie and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.

Heathers are twin sisters Ellie and Louise Macnamara. Their debut album ‘Here, Not There’ has garnered serious praise amongst both fans and media alike, and following a very successful Irish debut, the album was released in the UK and a number of European countries. Miracle Bell are a Kildare based electro/synth pop band who released their debut album, ‘Light Shape Sound’, in May 2010. They performed at the first ever Temple House Festival and are looking forward to returning to the Sligo venue in June. Kerbdog are reforming especially for the Temple House Festival. Kerbdog are a legendary alternative rock band from Kilkenny who formed in 1991. Following two albums released on Mercury Records, the band split up in 1998. Kerbdog experienced almost cult-like popularity which explains why the band are still widely regarded today. “The Danger is” the working title adopted by Dublin based artist Niamh Farrell for her musical endeavors. Niamh has been writing for years and after a two-year period of experimentation has created a 4-track E.P. recorded in Wicklow in 2010 and produced by Ken Mc Hugh. The E.P. confronts a multitude of emotions; from fear to happiness, love and its confusions. It is laced with honesty and humour and features climactic instrumental arrangements. Some highlights of recent months include performances in Crawdaddy supporting Warpaint, The Olympia supporting The Coronas, and supporting Brit Award winning Ellie Goulding on her Irish tour dates. STAND are a Dublin 4-piece rock band. They spent the last two years promoting their fourth studio album, ‘Travel Light’, both in Ireland and in the United States. The record was critically acclaimed leading the band to sell out the prestigious Bowery Ballroom in New York City. In June 2009 the band entered the studio of famed Buffalo New York band The Goo Goo Dolls to record 10 songs under the guidance of Producer Marc Swersky and renowned Mix Engineer Mark Needham (Chris Isaak, The Killers, Fleetwood Mac).

Live music from over 80 acts will be complemented by a unique arts trail featuring individual and very distinctive installations in the Temple House woods, woodcrafts, archery and a range of children’s activities for under 12s. Tired revellers will be able to chill out and experience holistic treatments in the Sanctuary.

The festival, which has a capacity of 5,000 festival goers, promises to be a little bit different and provide a relaxed chilled out atmosphere in idyllic surroundings, which will captivate and enthral anyone who attends.

Accommodation

Temple House festival-goers will be welcomed to the festival camp site from Friday morning and will be able to sleep in campervans, Yurts, Bell Tents and Tipi’s situated in the festival grounds, as well as the usual camping options for those on a budget. The campsite will be open until Monday at noon.

Parking is free at the Temple House Festival – and Temple House has acres of space!

Travel

Bus Eireann will be operating regular shuttle buses from Sligo and Tubbercurry Bus stations to/from Temple House over the festival weekend connecting from Buses from Derry, Dublin and Galway Please see www.buseireann.ie for further information.

Irish Rail operate regular train services from Dublin to Ballymote which is just 7 minutes drive to Temple House check out www.irishrail.ie for more info. Shuttle buses will operate from Ballymote Train station to Temple House.
