Karma Parking

Karma Parking are an original reggae/rock/funk fusion band based in the republic of Ireland. With a singer from France and a drummer from Zimbabwe, Karma Parking are a melting pot of cultures and influences, the result of which is a distinctive sound, unbound to any one genre. Though they all profess a diverse range of influences, each member brings his own musical penchant to the band: Ed provides the funk, Julien the reggae, Damien the blues and Jono's drumming is steeped in African influences. “The general idea is to get people dancing and having a good time”, they say and they invariably succeed in this endeavour. Their music is predominantly lively, imbued with optimism, inspiring audiences to enjoy themselves and get up and dance. 'Boogaloo' is their second album after many Eps. It was produced by Grammy nominated Jim Salamone at his flagship studio "Cambridge Sound Studios" in Philadelphia. Jim succeeded in capturing the band's energetic live sound in the recording by keeping the dynamics simple and organic without the use of effects. This album brings the addition of a new dimension to the band's sound with a horn section. Karma Parking are: Julien Fiasson, lead guitar & vox; Jono Skinner drums & percussion; Ed Forde, bass; Damien Bartle, rhythm guitar & vox. With the addition of a horn section, Karma Parking gains two new members, Kate and Rachel, graduates of Cork school of music on saxophone and trumpet. Two of the songs are available on itunes and soon the the whole album will be. Follow the links on myspace to download songs.
