The Festival
Temple House Festival, recently voted “Best New Festival” at the 2010 European Festival Awards, is shaping up to be the “Best Fest in the West” this summer with over 100 bands performing on 4 stages in the stunning grounds of the Temple House estate Friday 10th-12th June 2011.
Live music will be complemented by a unique arts trail, a path embedded in the stunning natural setting of the old rockery; encounter a world filled with the kooky, colourful, weird and wonderful. The Arts Trail involves a great array of work by local and national based artists with creations ranging from giant pink flamingos; alien fork people, punk birds, life size wire sculptures, recycled art and more installations of all shapes and sizes and in all kinds of locations. Performance Artists will also be in situ along the trail, inviting people to join in on the fun. There will also be a full range of children’s activities for under 12s in the Walled Garden to include The Workshop Tent, The Craft Tent, The Performance Tent, Marble Run, a mini Sports Field, The Little Chill – sounds good, Interactive Mural, Treasure Trail - Yippee & The Hootananny - whatever that is. Parents might even enjoy some of this too! A Medieval village will offer a wonderful interaction of living history displays and period tents. Medieval folk, who are in character for the entire weekend, delight in sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge of these fascinating times. Battle re-enactments seem to be a particular favourite! Carrowmore Archers are back this year for more tuition and fun. You’ll be able to book your session in advance this year. A booking link will follow shortly.
